Cleve's Auction Night: A Nice Pair Of Vintage

Only picked up a pair of cards at Cleve's auction this week, but they were good'ns:

My 1958 page is almost full, and is pretty loaded with stars.  This Bob Lemon makes another one, and is the first card in the album of the Hall of Famer.  Lemon won 207 games in the majors but missed three peak years due to service in WWII.  This card is in very good shape, and I'm thrilled to add it to the binder.

I'm always surprised when I manage to win a Hank Aaron card at auction with a write in vote.  My success rate is pretty low with Aaron bids, since someone is almost always willing to pay one more buck over what I wrote in.  But this one slipped passed the defenders, so touchdown Napkin!

Grades:

1958 Bob Lemon $4  A:  A nice looking 1958 card of a Hall of Famer for $4?  Boom.

1976 Topps Hank Aaron $3  A:  A $3 vintage card of Hank Aaron?  Boom again.
