Pretty Cards... Pretty Boring Players

Channeling my inner Charlie Bucket, this evening I carefully tore open the corner of a padded mailer with my name on it.  Padded mailers are commonplace around the Doon household, so it was no big deal, except that the return address was pretty nondescript and looked suspiciously like it was printed at a business.  A large, baseball card business.  Turns out, my hunch was correct.  Here is what spilled out of the mailer:

Cause I've got a golden ticket!

Cause I've got a golden ticket!

I've got a golden chance to make my way

And with a golden ticket it's a gol-den daaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!

6 packs of 2013 Topps Wrapper Redemption cards!!!  Except..... the contents were less this:

And more this:

I mean, sure, I'd take getting to tour your standard run of the mill chocolate factory any day and be happy about it and I'd stand there for hours grabbing candy off the assembly line and stuffing my face with it.  It's just that if I KNOW that there is something like Willy Wonka's place out there, there's a small part of me that's a little let down.

What I'm not let down about is the look of these cards.  These are really pretty cards.   Really, really pretty cards.   I'm just a little bummed I didn't get squat towards players I collect or even many really big stars.  I got a Pujols card, but it's a checklist.  I only got two Rangers, and neither were of my most favorite-est Rangers.  No Cliff Lee.  No former Naturals.

I did get one of the Silver Slate cards numbered to 10:
This is really nice in hand, I just don't care anything about Scherzer.

Here are the rest of the cards for your viewing pleasure:

I'd pretty much be willing to trade any of these.  Ideally, I'd like to get back some Rangers, or other players I collect, of this same set simply because a) as I've mentioned, these really are pretty cards and, b) between gathering the wrappers to send in for these and the wait to receive them, I had to put in a little effort over here.  Otherwise, let me know if you are interested.

I think I sent my wrappers in too late. I haven't gotten a pack yet.

Heck, I'll find some cards to send you if you, in turn, send that Brian Wilson to Night Owl. ;-)
